The Viking survival title caught the eye of 1 million of people in just five days and today, in just 21 days, Valheim di Iron Gate totaled more than 4 million copies sold. This according to what was communicated by the developer Iron Gate Studio and the publisher Coffee Stain, who recently stated that the title in question, still in Early Access, has reached a peak of simultaneous users of 500.000 people on Steam. These are clearly incredible numbers: in fact, it is apparently one of the few games to reach this milestone, alongside very famous titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds e cyberpunk 2077. The CEO of the development studio recently said:
I don't think I've really taken the time to think about it. I know the players really like the game, but at the same time we think we can do something even better in the future. We can't wait to add more content to the game, especially working on the remaining biomes. Our current roadmap only reaches the next biome and we hope to have done so by the end of the year, but it could very well take longer depending on how smooth development will be.
Reaching the four million copies sold is just the latest of Valheim's records (of which you can find our dedicated guide on our website, which explains step by step everything you need to know about the title in question). In less than two weeks they sold well 2 million of units, before cashing in on 3 million during its sixteenth day on the market. Coffee Stain Publishing head Albert Säfstrom further added:
Over a year ago I was describing Valheim to a friend as a game that made me feel how I felt when I first fell in love with games. Up until three weeks ago I thought this was a unique connection I only had with Valheim. Seeing the incredible welcome from the players over the past few weeks has made me realize that Valheim is something very special, not just for me, but for more players than I could have imagined.
