Twisted Metal it is perhaps one of the most original and controversial historical exclusives of the entire stock of the first PlayStation. Although the series hasn't seen a new chapter since 2012, Sony has decided to dedicate one to him TV series, taking the whole videogame world by surprise. Announced in 2019, production has remained quite silent over the past two years, until recently, when a source who claims to be "very close to the project" announced that Will Arnett (Arrested Development, LEGO Batman) will play the most iconic character in the entire franchise, namely Sweet tooth, the creepy clown driving the ice cream truck.
In addition to this unfortunately we do not know anything else, about other cast members, nor about the plot that the TV series will present to us. On the other hand Twisted Metal is not a series famous for its dense narration, indeed, it has often been at the center of lively controversy, especially at the end of the 90s, for the explicit content and for the gratuitous violence presented on the screen. In fact, in addition to the particular clandestine competitions aboard real tools of death with wheels, the player could run over multiple pedestrians during his crazy races against other runners, which is what it has not been well received by public opinion, especially the American one.
It's been 26 years since the first, controversial chapter of Twisted Metal. The series, especially in the early 2000s has been quite prolific, bringing several iterations on too PS2, concluding you can his run up PS3 with the last chapter simply called Twisted Metal (2012). Perhaps with the advent of the television adaptation we may have some more hope in seeing the return of this historic saga, maybe on console next gen. It must be said that such a controversial and "particular" title may not have an easy life given the easy indignation of the internet and the mass media that characterizes this historical period.
