Super Nintendo World, a theme park dedicated to the videogame universe of the Japanese company, should have opened at the Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, in 2023, but, today's news, the inauguration has been postponed to 2025. After a one-year postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the postponement to a later date arrived in August last year, according to when reported by the President of Orange County Jerry Demings, the park will not open until the beginning of 2025. All in all, therefore, good news. Consequently, the only plant dedicated to Nintendo remains the one located in Universal Studios in Japan, precisely a Osaka, which has yet to be opened.
A Universal Studios spokesperson said they will be needed various meals before work resumes and staff will need to be recruited, as well as reorganizing contracts with suppliers and contractors. As a result, Super Nintendo World opening in 2025 remains difficult. Furthermore, it must be considered that Nintendo is also struggling with the work of a smaller amusement park which will rise to Hollywood. At this point it is possible that the latter will see the light earlier than the one originally planned in Orlando. A scant consolation for US citizens.
As for the possible attractions that will be possible to visit, one must rely on the park in Osaka. We know, thanks to the virtual tour organized on the occasion of the original opening date, namely 5 February, that there will be all kinds of attractions inspired by the various Nintendian IPs and, above all, Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge, a sort of real life version of the famous spin off dedicated to the most famous plumber ever. We will have to wait a little longer for the opening, despite the fact that Covid in Japan is not running like in the rest of the world. In any case, we just have to dream ofopening of a theme park in the Old Continent.
