As you well know the new Star Wars: Squadrons will offer gamers addicting space battles on board Tie Fighter of the Empire or of the X Wind resistance, and in addition to a single player story mode, a substantial multiplayer component will be available, allowing users to show their skills in battle. Furthermore, the new title dedicated to the famous Star Wars saga will not present any microtransaction within it. But that's not all, given that in the past few hours the leaders of the US giant have revealed the reason why the new work of EA Motive will be sold at the price of "only" 39,99 €.
During Electronic Arts' latest quarterly financial briefing, Blake Jorgensen, The company's Chief Financial Officer, said that despite being "an incredible game", Star Wars: Squadrons it doesn't offer the gameplay breadth of other EA-branded titles, and as such, a lower price tag felt right for the game. We report in detail the words of Jorgensen:
We always watch games and want to make sure we provide the best for our users. All titles have a different scale and most of our works, right now, have a huge scale. We designed Star Wars: Squadrons to really focus on what we've heard from consumers, which is one of the biggest fantasies, to be able to fly an X-Wing or a TIE-Fighter.
It doesn't have the breadth of some of our titles, but it's still an incredible game. That's why we choose a slightly lower price. Also allow access to as many people as possible who love the Star Wars saga.
Please note that Star Wars: Squadrons will be available from next 2 October 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, including support for virtual reality (PS VR and PC). At launch, the title will have 8 different types of Starfighters and 4 unique classes for players to choose from.
