Electronic Arts, as we have known for a few days, is working on a new chapter of the Skate series, which last appeared on the market with Skate 3 in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Underlining that the American giant has not yet specified the target platforms, nor a generic launch window, of what we can define as Skate 4, however, we can focus on the development study selected by EA itself for the creation of the new chapter: Full Circle (the company logo can be seen on the cover).
Leading the development of Skate 4 (still unofficial title) for Full Circle is Daniel McCulloch, former general manager of Xbox Live at Microsoft. McCulloch in the past has worked at the likes of Forza Motorsport and for some first-party games dedicated to Kinect. These are Daniel's words, translated into Spanish for your convenience:
Fans wanted the Skate series to come back into existence and we want them to feel involved in the creation process, from development to launch of the game and beyond. We want them to feel part of Full Circle. Our main goal is to have fun and create great games that people want to play with their friends. Additionally, we're looking for more developers to help us build compelling worlds for players to explore.
Electronic Arts, according to the polygon.com portal, has also hired Deran Chum e Chris 'Cuz' Parry as leader of the creative division of the new chapter of Skate, stating that the duo was seen as "integral to the creation of the franchise and the development of all three original games in the series". The Electronic Arts Skate series was originally developed by the EA studio Black box, based in Vancouver. That team was then merged with that of EA Canada and Black Box was closed in 2013. The last title of Skate, as mentioned at the beginning, was Skate 3. For some time fans of the series have been begging Electronic Arts for a return of the series: well, they have been satisfied. Stay tuned to our pages for more details on the game, including first screenshots and the first trailers, which should soon be shown by EA and the guys at Full Circle.
Speaking of Electronic Arts, before closing we want to remind ourselves that some rumors that have appeared on the net in recent weeks seem to confirm that cross-play will be present on all upcoming titles signed by the US company. For about a week, finally, rumors have been chasing each other according to which some EA titles would be exclusives dedicated to Microsoft's next generation consoles, Xbox Series X and Series S.
