During the PC Gaming Show 2020 a few months ago it had been an announcement the arrival of Persona 4 Golden on PC. The title, developed by Atlus and distributed by SEGA, was made available on Steam al price di 19,99 €. The decision to sell the stock at such a competitive price, according to the latest data, has undoubtedly proved to be a winner. Persona 4 Golden, in fact, has been bought for over 500 Steam users in just one month, and this incredible success seems to have prompted SEGA and Atlus to focus on the Steam platform again in the future.
During a Q&A session dedicated to fiscal results in the last quarter, Koichi Fukazawa - Senior Executive, Vice President and CFO of SEGA Sammy - he has declared:
We remastered "Persona 4 Golden," a title previously sold on PlayStation Vita, and released it for sale on Steam this fiscal year. Given the incredible success of the stock and its low price, sales were much higher than expected. We will continue to actively promote the porting of previously released titles to Steam and new platforms. We are also negotiating with the owners of these platforms for new games in the future and are evaluating new ways to sell each title on favorable terms. These include measures such as preparing the PC versions of the titles from the start, with multi-platform releases in mind.
So what are the next SEGA and Atlus games that will be launched in the future on Steam? There are currently rumors of a PC version of the Catherine: Full Body e Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, but in the current state of things it is still early to make predictions about it. There is nothing left to do but wait for new announcements from SEGA and Atlus who, given the incredible and unexpected success of Persona 4 Golden on Steam, will not be long in coming.
