Sony has undoubtedly invested a lot of time and resources to study the various PlayStation 5 cooling systems, in order to make his next-gen console work at the best lowest possible temperature. In a recent interview, Yasuhiro Otori Sony, head of the team dedicated to mechanical and thermal design of PS5, has unveiled new details on the optimizations that will be released via firmware over the next few years, which will (also) regulate the operation of the fan.
These are the words of Otori, released on the 4gamer.net portal:
Thanks to some of the upcoming games that will be launched on PlayStation 5 we will be able to collect important data on CPU behavior. We have a plan for optimize fan control on the basis of the data that will be collected.
PlayStation 5, is also specified in the article, boasts three temperature sensors on the main board to control the fan speed based on the internal temperature of the APU and the highest temperature of the three sensors.
A few days ago Sony stepped in to explain how some of the most important decisions related to the size of PS5 (and what it contains within it). Furthermore, in a thorough teardown the console has been disassembled piece by piece, to reveal to the world all the components that will make it a reality in the coming weeks.
PlayStation 5 will be launched on November 19th. In recent days, an indiscretion leaked that would like the launch of Sony's next-gen console postponed to India for copyright issues. But while in the east there seem to be problems, in the United States it seems that some of the peripherals dedicated to PS5 are already on sale, such as the DualSense controller. Are you also eager for a taste of the future? Take a look at the last one Burger King commercial; the well-known chain has recently launched a new advertisement where you can clearly hear (and twice) what could be the console start-up sound.
