After the numerous rumors that have occurred in recent months, Sony has finally provided all the details on the PlayStation 5 backward compatibility, through the official website PlayStation Support. The Japanese house has in fact clarified the situation, stating that "the vast majority of 4000+ PS4 games will be playable on PS5 consoles ″. However, it seems that players will have to give up some titles, which will not in fact be present in the list of backwards compatible games:

The reasons why these 10 titles did not receive the possibility to be played on the next generation consoles have not been clarified, however. Fortunately, the players triple-A titles or minor productions will not be excluded from compatibility with PlayStation 5 which have been very successful in recent years. On the PlayStation Store, which in these days should undergo a restyling and renew itself, these 10 titles will be highlighted with the words "Playable on: PS4 only". However, some of these titles will benefit from the modality Game Boost of PlayStation 5, which will allow it to have a higher or more stable frame rate. Sony finally made some clarifications regarding the announcement, inviting players to try the titles to "see if you are happy with the gaming experience" on PlayStation 5 before purchase the add-on for Playstation 4 titles.
Some features that were available on PS4 may not be available on PS5. In addition, some PS4 games may exhibit errors or unexpected behavior when run on PS5.
Sony also explained how the other components work on the new generation.
