The tech demo that was shown yesterday during the Game Summer Fest has really received considerable appreciation from the community and from professionals. The graphic quality of the product, which we remember ran on a dev-kit of PlayStation 5, astounded everyone as well as the loading times. The CEO of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney, during the interview with Geoff keighley stated that: “The world of loading screens is now over”.
Actually the step from a simple one HDD mounted on current generation consoles at a SSD which we know will be an integral part of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, is a big change that will significantly reduce any type of loading in the game. He then went on to say that:
“The world of screen loading is over. The times of the geometries that pop up between the various game environments are now over. Sony's storage system is truly fantastic, not only is it the best in class we can find on consoles, but it is even better than any other platform, even better than a high-end PC. "
Tim Sweeney he is also confident about the new graphics engine U and he is convinced that it will completely change the way of developing a next generation game: "The effect that the Unreal Engine 5 has is to be able to create any type of game making it completely unmerved, from start to finish" .
