It was officially stated that when the user will turn on the console and complete the login, will automatically find, within its library, the collection of content played on PlayStation 4. To ensure that this happens, however, it will be necessary make sure that the console is always updated. The games will also benefit from the fast loading speeds and the new graphics experience that the next generation console offers. There will also be backward compatibility for PlayStation VR titles as well as those featured on the PlayStation Plus and on PlayStation Now. Instead, regarding the transfer of games and data, here's what Sony says:
You can transfer digital games, game data and saves from a PlayStation 4 console to a PlayStation 5 console via LAN cables or a wireless (WiFi) connection. If you have already stored PlayStation 4 games and game data on the external USB storage device connected to your PlayStation 4, you can use it to transfer the content to the PlayStation 5.
