Nintendo prepares to live the 2021 as an absolute protagonist of the world videogame scene. In addition to the already announced Pokémon Snap, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (coming this month, here's our preview) e Monster hunter rise, the Japanese giant is grappling with several titles yet to be announced. This is exactly what the president of the Kyoto company spoke about Shuntaro Furukawa, on the sidelines of the shareholders' meeting held in the past few hours. Regarding future announcements, Furukawa said: "Our line of software for the next fiscal year is a topic that we will discuss at the appropriate time". In addition, he focused on the upcoming releases, or the reboot of the Super Mario themed adventure released in 2013 for Wii U, the new chapter in the series Monster Hunter, coming in March, and, finally, the themed spin-off Pokémon, coming in April.
Furukawa also released a statement that certainly did not go unnoticed: "As always, we are preparing a series of titles for users in the upcoming fiscal year." A phrase that portends a series of announcements on the horizon. Considering that, in the current year, there are three very important anniversaries for the history of the brand, namely the 35 anniversary di The Legend of Zelda, 25 anniversary of Pokémon and the 35th anniversary of Metroid, it is reasonable to think that something big is boiling in the pot. Take Zelda, the announcement of the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is well known: fans of the series expect, of course, a release date and, in any case, something more than a simple announcement. Let's move on to Pokémon: according to some rumors, this would be a good year to finally see the highly anticipated remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. They will come? Finally, Metroid Prime 4. The title was announced four years ago, but, after various events, including the alternation between Bandai Namco e Retro Studios, nothing more was known, except for some rumors. Will it be released this year? We'll see.
In short, mom Nintendo has plenty of meat on the grill. It remains to be seen how many and, above all, which of these expected and talked about titles will finally see the light.
