Also N, the highly anticipated PC-exclusive MMO from Amazon Game Studios, is added to the very long list of titles postponed due to the emergency COVID-19. Amazon has in fact announced with a press release that the game has been released postponed to 25 August. Also the Closed Beta of the title, expected in April, was postponed to July. The main reasons include the desire to provide a complete product and the difficulty of developing an ambitious project like New World from a distance. Below is the official press release released on the game site by Amazon Game Studios:
We have made the difficult decision to postpone the New World release date to August 25, 2020 and the start of the Closed Beta to July. Like most of you, our team has also been subjected to quarantine measures following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. While we are still making progress, on the other hand, developing an ambitious MMO like New World remotely comes with greater challenges. We want to make sure we take the time to make New World the best possible game for our players. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release of the game so that we can guarantee the highest possible quality of the product when working remotely.
We know you are looking forward to the launch of New World and we can't wait to share it with you. However, the health and safety of our team remain our top priority. We are confident that you will understand the decision to protect our team in these uncertain times. In the meantime, we're busy redefining our timeline so that we can make New World the best it can be.
We want to thank the Alpha players for helping to make this game better. The Alpha version will remain open to allow us to continue testing and refining the gaming experience. From now until the game launches on August 25, we will continue to share information about the game's features and content. We invite you to read our new article on the invasion and keep an eye on our social channels to stay up to date on all the news. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. Talk to you soon.
