Konami has officially announced the three collections that are part of its special celebration program fiftieth anniversary: together with the already chatted Castlevania Anniversary Collection, two other collections are therefore confirmed, namely the Contra Anniversary Collection and the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection. All three editions will be released exclusively in digital format, and will debut by the end of the summer on the stores of PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam.
The first collection to be released, on April 18, 2019, will be the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection, available at a price of 19,99 euros. This special collection will contain eight games, namely Typhoon (A-JAX), Nemesis (Gradius), Vulcan Venture (Gradius II), Life Force (Salamander), Thunder Cross, Scramble and Twinbee. In addition, a small but highly appreciated extra will also be included, namely a special in-game book containing the original sketches made by the developers of the titles.
For what concerns the Castlevania Anniversary Collection, however, its release date has not yet been announced for the moment, but it has been confirmed that it will contain well eight titles. Four of them have already been confirmed by Konami, and they are Castlevania, Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, Super Castlevania IV and Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge. In addition, a rich man will also be included in this case in-game book, containing both the notes from the developers of the titles, and an exclusive interview with Adi Shankar, the producer of the animated series currently available on Netflix.
Finally, regarding the Contra Anniversary Collection, it has been confirmed that the collection will include the various chapters made for cabinets and consoles, including the previously announced Contra, Super Contra, Super C and Contra III: The Alien Wars; other titles included in the edition will instead be disclosed to the public only later. Also in this case a rich one will be available in-game book, while the release date is currently set for the end of the summer.
