La Game Developers Conference 2020 is one of the most anticipated videogame events of the year which should have taken place in San Francisco between 16 and 20 March. The use of the conditional is a must since, after several companies had already confirmed that they would not be present at the event due to the Coronavirus, an official press release published on the event website officially declared that the March 2020 GDC has been canceled and postponed to a later date.
After close consultation with our partners in the gaming industry and the community around the world, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Game Developers Conference this March. As we have been reminded, great things happen when the community joins and interacts with the GDC. For this reason, we plan to host another GDC over the course of next summer.
These are the words in the official press release that promise the organization of the GDC 2020 during the summer of this year. So we just have to wait for new information to be released over the next few weeks.
