Fortnite on PlayStation 5: new details unveiled by Sony

As we told you a few days ago, epic Games e People Can Fly I'm working on a rebuilt build of Fortnite dedicated to next-gen versions. In particular, Sony has dedicated an article to the shooter in its version PlayStation 5, between the pages of the PlayStation Blog, where further details are provided on resolution, frame rate, image quality and management of adaptive triggers.

Sony claims that for the Dualense (the new PlayStation 5 controller) Adaptive trigger feedback for ranged weapons will be supported, allowing you to distinctly feel the differences in using the Bolt-Action sniper rifle or a pistol. Fortnite, in fact, will support two types of adaptive trigger feedback for ranged weapons: trigger feedback and sustained feedback. Weapons that fire a single shot with each press (such as pistol, submachine gun, assault rifles, etc.) will use trigger pull feedback, which results in players feeling resistance to pulling the DualSense's triggers. Weapons that, on the other hand, require you to hold the trigger button, such as the Boom Bow or Minigun, will use extended feedback. Holding the DualSense trigger fully down will feel a unique sensation of resistance, to make the player feel the fatigue required in holding a bow for a long time or keeping a MInigun running.

As mentioned, Fortnite on PlayStation 5 is not just an optimized PS4 build, but a product tailored to make the most of the potential of the new Sony console. Below, the Fortnite technical improvements for PS5 listed by the Japanese giant:

    • Working with the console's custom RDNA 2 GPU, we've built the next-generation version of Fortnite's output at 4K and up to 60 FPS in all game modes on PS5.
    • The Zen 2 CPU + expanded memory allows us to use dynamic visual and physical elements to bring even more life to the Fortnite island. Grass and trees respond to explosions, visual effects for smoke and liquids have improved, and there are new effects for clouds and storm.
    • Our work with the PS5's ultra-high-speed SSD has allowed us to dramatically improve loading performance, improving texture loading and letting you get into games much faster.
    • Split Screen can be played with higher performance - up to 60 FPS! This is due to our work with improved CPU, GPU and memory.

Finally, remember that the return ax pickaxe free, classic Fortnite Chapter 1 default pickaxe, is currently available in the PlayStation Store pages and in the title's Item Shop and will be until January 15 2021. Once redeemed in PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 version, the item will remain forever linked to the player's account.

Fortnite is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, macOS and Nintendo Switch. Before saying goodbye, we remind you that, through the launch of a dedicated event, it will be possible to obtain the Ghost Rider skin, the explosive superhero The Marvel movies.
