Far Cry 6: Ubisoft notifies players of a phishing attempt

In the last few minutes Ubisoft intervened through its official Twitter profile @UbisoftSupport to inform players from all over the world of a dangerous phishing attempt which is taking place, linked to the highly anticipated Far Cry 6, the latest chapter in the shooter series of the French giant. The e-mails, which in theory should contain a link to register for a hypothetical Beta version of the game they are actually fake, representing in all respects the classic phishing attempt (in essence: making users believe they are following a link for a certain reason, and then ending up on sites that are best avoided in order to avoid problems).

This is the message that Ubisoft has published on its official Twitter profile dedicated to customer support:

We can confirm that the Far Cry 6 beta login email is a phishing attempt. Has been reported. Please do not reply if you have received this or similar email. Thanks for the tip!

The tweet was published in response to a user who, right on the social network in question, alerted both the French company and players from all over the world. TheRadBrad user has in fact published a few minutes ago:

A warning: there is an e-mail apparently sent from the official Ubisoft profile that makes players believe they can redeem access to a Beta version of Far Cry 6. Inside there is even an embargo date with a password to run the registration. The virus that you find on your computer will be able to see your screen and record everything you do with your system. Be careful.

At the bottom of the news, the official tweet with which Ubisoft confirmed the news, warning all fans who are eagerly awaiting Far Cry 6. The title was originally planned for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Google Stadia on February 18 2021, but on October 29th Ubisoft announced the postponement to a later date. Waiting to know the new launch date, we remind you that a leak at the beginning of the year seemed to reveal the first few minutes of gameplay by Far Cry 6. For a few days now there have been rumors on the Web that they want the French house engaged in the development of mobile games, sacrificing the number of Triple A in the next future.

We can confirm the email regarding FC6 beta access is a phishing attempt. It has been reported. Please do not respond if you have received this email or similar. Thank you for the report! https://t.co/G7jBlRS6IW
