epic Games recently announced that from now on it will be the publisher of the new games of genDesign, Playdead e Remedy Entertainement. The new titles from these three development houses will be released under the “Epic Games Publishing” label. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney, regarding this news, he stated:
We are building the editorial model we have continually wanted for ourselves since working with publishers.
The agreement with the three development houses will be based on three fundamental points:
- Freedom and control. Developers own 100% of all their intellectual property and can freely administer their projects.
- Fully funded projects. Epic Games will take care of all production expenses, from developer salaries to got-to-market, QA, localization, marketing and marketing and publishing costs.
- Division of profits. The profit from the sales of our products will be split evenly, 50/50 between Epic and the developers
Remedy is currently working on the second DLC of Control, which will follow The Foundation, which has been detailed in the following article. genDesign, after completing The Last Guardian, remained silent for the following years, and now the fans of this development team can once again hope for a new work of their own.
