Among the many titles presented during the rich conference Microsoft products held on the occasion of E3 2019, Elden Ring it is one of those that has undoubtedly been able to attract the most attention. After all, there is still talk of a new project by From Software in collaboration between the director of Dark Souls, Hidetaka Miyazaki, and the author of A Song of Ice & Fire, or George RR Martin, names so high-sounding that being able not to look at everything with extreme interest would be practically impossible. Well, just in these last hours Miyazaki wanted to explain in more detail what the writer's role will be within Elden Ring. In particular, the developer stated:
“It all started with my passion for Martin's works. I think A Song of Ice & Fire and its TV adaptation Game of Thrones are both masterpieces. I am also a huge fan of Fever Dreams and Tuf Voyaging. When we sat down together at our first meeting, something immediately clicked. I proposed to play a game together and he accepted, honestly I was quite surprised at how smooth everything went. "
According to what has been stated, the collaboration would have started with Miyazaki intent on explaining the main theme of Elden Ring. The developer took care of writing the main story of the work while Martin was placed in charge of the mythology of the created play world. This means that the player will be able to unravel what should effectively be a story within history - in full From Software style - with players discovering new fragments of lore by exploring the game world. In short, Martin was not involved in the drafting of the main story of Elden Ring, a decision that Miyazaki made for fear that the videogame format could severely limit Martin's potential. Finally, the developer stated:
"Thanks to the lore created by Martin, the world of Elden Ring and its characters will be able to boast much more depth and personality."
