Bad news for fans of car racing games. Recently the boys of Codemasters have communicated that the new Dirt 5 has been postponed again. According to the British publisher, the current-gen (PS4, Xbox One) and PC versions of the famous racing game have been postponed again. from October 16 to November 6, 2020. The new delay of the game would allow the software house to release all versions of the title in a relatively short period of time, coinciding with the launch of PS5 and Xbox Series X, which would be scheduled for the month of November.
Already last month Codemasters announced that the release of Dirt 5 would be delayed for a week, from 9 to 16 October. Expectation that will now last until 6 November. We report in detail the words of Frank Sagnier, CEO of the British software house, regarding the latest postponement of the game:
Dirt 5 received wide critical acclaim, culminating in the game receiving the Gamescom 2020 Best Racing Game award on August 30th.
The revised launch date will allow us to take advantage of the launch of the next generation console from Sony and Microsoft, expected in time for the upcoming holiday season.
As you well know, Dirt 5 was unveiled with a reveal trailer last May at the event of Xbox Series X. The game will support the Smart delivery by Microsoft, allowing players to purchase the title for Xbox One and play it, at no additional cost, even on the next generation console. Finally, we remind you that Dirt 5 will be available from next November 6 2020 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC (unless further postponements).
