A month has already passed since the release of cyberpunk 2077, and the latest effort of CD Projekt RED has been widely criticized by players not only for the almost pitiful state of the game on the consoles of the past generation (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), even forcing Sony to have to remove the action RPG from their digital store, but also for the different contents that were inexplicably cut before the game's launch. Fortunately, although the development team is working hard to remedy the various issues reported, since its debut Cyberpunk 2077 has seen a series of community-made mods designed to enhance the player experience, or at least, make it extremely fun.
According to what emerged in the past few hours, a Redditor, one of the many players who had anticipated the game for years, has taken the responsibility of elevating the gameplay of the game to the next level. The user in question would be Nexen4, video editor and engineer, who had the fantastic idea of using a program called VORPX to convert Cyberpunk 2077 images to VR. The faithful followers of the work will remember that CDPR had some problems with the implementation of virtual reality in Night City, even receiving a complete development kit, but in the end the Polish software house decided to abandon the feature entirely. The Nexen4 mod intends to fully preserve the immersion of Night City.
Using VORPX would not be the only element to allow the open world action RPG of CD Projekt to support VR, as Nexen4 himself revealed on reddit that in addition to the code, he is making a locomotion device that can improve the movement of the character and fully support augmented reality. The peripheral would currently have the name of "VR chair". As can be seen from the short clip, which you can easily retrieve at the bottom of the article, the Redditor project is not yet completed, but the result obtained so far would seem really excellent. Furthermore, according to Nexen4, the next step would be to reduce the effect of motion sickness, trying to adapt the neurological activity between the somatosensory and motor cortex, which would be activated by the player while using the device.
