After the announcement of Bayonetta 3 for Nintendo Switch ai The Game Awards 2017, the title has disappeared from the spotlight, being treated only on a few occasions. This has created serious concerns for those eagerly awaiting this sequel starring the seductive witch. The creator of the series Hideki Kamiya, however, over the months he has repeatedly reassured fans by stating the development of the work was progressing well is that the title had not been deleted:
I'm glad there is still waiting for the title, but one thing I would like to overcome is precisely the trend I'm seeing on social: people are starting to ask if the game has been canceled. I want you guys to take any worries you have and immediately throw them out the window, because we're still at work and the project hasn't been canceled in any way.
In a recent interview with GameXplain, Hideki Kamiya has again confirmed that the development of the title is still ongoing, this time simply saying:
It's going fine.
These words were echoed by those of Atsushi Inaba, another member of the development team Platinum Games, who explained that the Coronavirus slowed down the work:
How much has it influenced our work? Honestly, I think that's something we'll understand later. We currently work from home, trying to do what we could with this new new way of working. It is still very early and I think how much we can adapt will really show what we can do not only in a situation like this, but with any other difficult situation. This is a challenge for us.
