Assassin's Creed Origins and its sequel, Odyssey, have redefined the formula of the iconic brand in recent years Ubisoft, introducing different RPG elements into their adventures. Level progression, equipment modification for your protagonist, gradual enemy difficulty level, to name a few. With Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it will no longer be like this.
The creative director of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Ashraf Ismail, explained that Valhalla will prioritize power over numerical levels, taking into account the unlocked abilities and equipment you have equipped. Here are his words to his colleagues at Game Informer ePress-Start:
As part of our new take on the elements and RPG progression, I'd say it's less about the levels and more about the sense of power. Based on the skills you possess, you gain power.
We want players to enjoy the game experience however they want.
Ashraf Ismail he added that the number attributed to the strength of the enemy will still be present, but that it will not affect as in Origins and Odyssey. Also, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will allow you to customize your style of play using a large skill tree, allowing the player to change the type of Viking they want to play with to their liking. We remind you that the new chapter in the Assassin's Creed saga will debut by the end of 2020 on Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One e PC.
