Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 - Preview, aspiring vampires

As you probably know, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 was shown yesterday in a new trailer, on the occasion of the live Inside Xbox 20/20. a cinematic trailer of all points, among other things accompanied by the song "Danke Schoen”By Wayne Newton which recalls a macabre dance of death from the very first frame. In just 2 minutes of presentation we are therefore offered an interesting look at the next first person action RPG (the third person will be left only in some specific aspects of the game) signed Hardsuit Labs, a little taste of what Seattle's vampire underworld will unveil as soon as the game makes its debut this 2020; the reference toChristmas tree, in our opinion, it now makes clear the definitive launch window.

A city to be conquered

That Masquerade begin, then. Come dance it is also an invitation to enter the scene, in a masked ball that will allow us to - or rather, oblige us to - survive while maintaining anonymity among humans, while juggling the streets of Seattle, haunted and controlled by vampires since its foundation. As shown by the video, we will enter the alleys and the beating heart of the city, chasing the prey of the moment, our only reason for "life". We will meet the old founders, present since the birth of the city, and some new recruits and extras, who are increasingly gaining ground within the diabolical fabric of the metropolis. Each with its own character, its mysteries, its hidden programs: we will therefore have to carefully choose ours allies and, consequently, ours too enemies.

It remains true, however, that from a cinematic trailer it remains quite difficult to judge a title for what it is in its true substance. In the case of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, moreover, no space is given to the real soul of the game, if not to some tiny drop of gameplay (we like it and we are convinced by the first person, and even the fights seem beautiful), and we are not allowed even a few bite of history. The settings, however, they show a world where they stand out neon and nightlife: nothing particularly innovative, it is true, but in any case very faithful to the original cornerstone, with a general aesthetic that is certainly very pleasant.

The first game, moreover, enjoyed aexceptional atmosphere and a compelling writing, with a truly tempting art direction and game world construction; and although it is not possible to understand from the trailer if all this will be perfectly packaged and packaged again, we are confident that this highly anticipated sequel will not disappoint its fans. Indeed, the pen of Brian mitsoda, the creative mastermind behind the original Bloodlines, which returns in this new chapter with a dynamic storytelling, interactive, developed on different paths and results. Our human origin, discipline, clan, the faction we will choose and how we will keep our human side, are all elements that will affect the game experience. As well as the tensions, fights and twists that pulsate in the vigorous veins of Seattle's dangerous and ruthless vampire politics.

In any case, one element that seems to clash with what is offered in the cinematic trailer - precisely because it is a promotional video - is theanimation flaunted by the characters, which stumbles mainly because of the unnatural facial expressions. In fact, if Come Dance tries to give viewers an effective juxtaposition of disturbing frames punctuated by a cheerful melody, the trope works above all thanks to the fact that the real disturbing element seems to be the animation itself.

With faces and expressions that seem straight out of The Sims 4, and a slightly awkward and awkward opening dance (but to be honest not even the one of the Prince of Seattle is saved), the trailer gets a grotesque and sinister tone at the same time, which attracts yes, but perhaps does not fully convince the public that craved it. It is obviously too early to judge, and we repeat this; we will have to wait a little longer before being able to confirm or deny what will be the final effect of a production in reality already much anticipated since the beginning of this year. So if it is still too early even to (re) enter our new and dear Masquerade, in the meantime we can continue to dance a little longer together with Stabby - the handsome cover vampire.
