Samsung: how to uninstall default apps?
Apps are a bit the basis of our smartphones, without them we can not do anything, but they are not all useful. Everyone has their own way of using their smartphone and often there are apps installed on our smartphones that only take up space because they are not used.
Applications from operators or manufacturers like Samsung are the best example, do you want to know how to remove them?
I will offer you two radically different solutions of following. The "soft" solution that is quick and easy to perform, but not optimal.
A "hard" solution that is more complicated, but very effective.
It will be up to you to choose which one you want to follow, the second method allows you to actually remove your unwanted Android apps and free up your smartphone memory.
The menu may differ slightly if you are using a newer version, such as Android Oreo or Nougat.
How to uninstall default applications?
Android / Samsung: Deactivate your apps
This solution will not allow you to uninstall so-called "system" applications such as that of your operator, but this will make them invisible and non-functional. If you deactivate an application, you will no longer receive notifications and the icon will no longer appear in the application list. You can deactivate and reactivate all applications.
- Go to settings of the your device
- So, in the section Applications (about Gestione uses )
- Select the app that you want to disable (or uninstall)
- Toccata Disable
- A warning message is displayed, please do click su OK
Android / Samsung: Root your smartphone or tablet
Rooting your device sounds dangerous and complicated, but that's not quite the case. First of all, root actually allows you to have full administrator rights on your phone, so you can fully control it and even have more functions.
Also, rooting the phone does not remove the warranty of the smartphone. It is also not irreversible as the root can be deleted. If you want to know more about the subject, read our article what is root? Advantages and disadvantages
Android / Samsung: how to uninstall apps on my rooted device
Once you have rooted your phone, you can uninstall any application, from the one you downloaded, those of your operator and even the Android system. You will be free to do whatever you want on your phone! I show you an example of an application that allows you to do this.
- Install theapp System app remover (ROOT)
- Launch the application
- Select the applications to uninstall
- Toccata Uninstall
- Validation the procedure
The application is divided into two parts, a User Applications part and a System Applications part. The first part works like Android's built-in application manager and allows you to uninstall more than one application at a time. The second part allows you to get rid of the applications of your carrier, your manufacturer and the built-in Android ones.
Be careful what you uninstall, some system applications should not be uninstalled. Fortunately, the application indicates on each application its degree of importance with messages such as [Must be kept] and a fairly clear color code, orange for those that you can still uninstall and red for those that should not be uninstalled.
Android / Samsung: how to reset my apps when needed
If necessary, the applications that you uninstall (at least the system applications) are placed in a recycle bin. If you have uninstalled a main application by mistake or want to reinstall the application, simply go to the recycle bin and restore the applications. Here's how to do it:
- Launch the application
- Tap the trash can icon up
- Select the applications to restore
- to press Restore
- Validation the procedure
Of course, there are other applications on the Play Store that can do the same thing, I chose this application because I find it very powerful and practical, moreover, it is very light and free.
If you prefer to choose another application, don't forget to check if it allows you to root your phone. It is usually written (ROOT) in the application name or description.
