Despite some rumors past had announced the cancellation of the new series for Lucasfilms, Obi-Wan Kenobi, during the presentation of Birds of Prey the actor Ewan McGregor he immediately denied the news. We know that the director was chosen for the direction of the film Deborah Chow, after seeing his excellent work on The Mandalorian. Certainly not an easy job, given the proximity of the themes and therefore the possibility of creating very similar contents. We trust in the ability of the Chow, which announced that it still has a lot of work to do to achieve the goals it has set for this new production.
The series Obi-Wan Kenobi will be released on Disney + during the next year, trusting that the ongoing global crisis will not force production to change its expected date. It will be set between the third episode of the saga Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and the fourth episode (but first in order of release) Star Wars: A New Hope. At the moment we have no news regarding a probable plot, but the presence of Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master. Despite the stop of pre-production due to a revision of the scripts and the search for new writers, the shooting is now close to the beginning.
