Where to find The Elder in Valheim

Its habitat is the Black Forest, and The Elder must also be summoned to face it. You already know the system, you have to go to the mystical altar and interact with the runic stones in the burial chambers. You will burn three ancient seeds, obtained by fighting Greydwarfs of various classes.

How to defeat The Elder

The Elder has three attacks. As far as the melee is concerned, it is really worth avoiding it. But even its ranged blow is really effective, as it will throw thorny vines at you which, in addition to hurting you so much, will destroy all the trees around you, which, falling could hurt you. The only safe shelter is behind the columns of the altar, and then strike from a distance with a bow and arrow, possibly with the mighty Huntsman bow and fiery arrows. As for the area of ​​effect, as if that were not enough, when you feel the earth shake, pay attention to the roots that will come out from the subsoil.

Being made of wood it is very vulnerable to fire damage. It would therefore be preferable, before evoking it, light some bonfires around, so that he can step on them and cause damage himself.

The Greydwarfs will also give you further torment, so when they appear, get them out of the way. And since you're going to get a lot of beating in general, get yourself several healing potions if you've unlocked them in the meantime.

The Elder's head

As for the trophy, that is the head of The Elder, bring it back and place it on the sacrificial stone, to gain a power that will make you cut down trees faster.
