How to unlock the Chicken Hat in Metal Gear Solid 5 the Phantom Pain

Unlocking the chicken hat in Metal Gear Solid V the Phantom Pain is quite simple: if you let yourself be killed three times in a row by the same enemy or armored vehicle, the message inviting you to wear the "chicken hat" will appear. This can be equipped from the game menu, under the settings tab.

 

Wearing the chicken hat the enemies will not notice you, even if you are in their field of vision. This should work three times, then you'll get caught anyway.

Most likely Kojima has included this very special feature to help Metal Gear novices, but keep in mind that using the chicken hat you will never get a rating higher than "A". Equipping the hat even once during a mission it will prevent you from obtaining the "S" rank.
