Preliminary information
Before you go ahead and actually see how to download whatsapp profile photos, my golden seed fornirti alcune preliminary information that will be useful to you to complete the operation in question.
First of all, I have to inform you that, at the time of writing, there is no function on WhatsApp that allows you to download profile photos of others. However, it is possible to stem this problem by touching a user's profile photo (or by accessing the "Info" section of the profile of interest) and then taking a screenshot.
Before doing this, however, I recommend that you ask for permission to download the profile photo from the contact in question, in order to avoid any problems whatsoever (especially if they are personal photos, even if made public by the latter). All clear? Well then let's proceed!
How to download a friend's WhatsApp profile picture
Let's see immediately how to download friend's WhatsApp profile picture or, in any case, of one of the contacts you have in your address book: below you will find explained how to proceed on Android, iPhone and also from PC.
Android
To proceed on Android, after starting WhatsApp and tapping on the profilo's photo of the contact you are interested in, you need to take a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the key combination provided for this purpose.
So start WhatsApp on your device, tap on the tab Chat: at the top left, press the icon of speech bubble located at the bottom right and scroll through the list of contacts you see on the screen, going to locate the one whose profile photo you want to save.
Next, tap on the profile photo thumbnail of the person in question and tap on the photo, to open it in full screen. Alternatively, after going to the screen containing the contact list, tap on name of the person of which to save the profile photo, he still presses on his name (located at the top) and, on the screen Info that is shown to you, tap his profilo's photo, to view it in full screen.

To proceed on iPhone, you have to follow more or less the same instructions that I gave you in the chapter on Android: after starting WhatsApp and tapping on the profile photo of the person you are interested in, you have to take a screenshot using the simple key combination set up for this purpose .
So start WhatsApp on your "iPhone by", tap the button Chat: located at the bottom, click on the icon of pencil located at the top right (or possibly on one of the chat already started) and then select the contact of your interest. In the screen that opens, then, tap on name of the person you want to download and, on the screen Contact info that opens, tap the profilo's photo User.
Now, to save the profile photo that has opened in full screen, you simply need to take a screenshot. To succeed, if you have iPhone X or a later model, press the keys simultaneously Volume up (located on the left edge) and the side button (located on the right edge).
If, on the other hand, you have an older iPhone model, press the at the same time Home button (located on the front of the device, under the iPhone display) together with the Power button which is located on the top edge (on iPhone 5s and earlier) or on the right side edge (on iPhone 6/6 Plus and later, up to iPhone 8/8 Plus).
