How They Work and How to Unlock Destiny Grimoire Cards [PS4-Xbox One-360-PS3]
At first glance they may seem almost useless, but the Grimoire Cards are a treasure to be discovered in Destiny.
Guide to Grimoire Cards
The grimoire cards are collectibles that are unlocked by continuing to play Destiny (surely you too have noticed the messages that appear on the screen from time to time). The Grimoire Cards are many and grouped into different categories which, at least for the moment, are the following:
- Guardians
- Inventory
- Allies
- Enemies
- Places
- Activities
How to see the Grimoire cards
At the moment, unfortunately, it is not possible to consult the cards in our possession directly from the game menus. There are two ways in which you can do this: directly from the Bungie.net site (obviously you will have to log in with your Microsoft or Playstation game account which will link your game progress to the site) or by using the appropriate Destiny companion app to Android or iOS. One way or another you will be able to see the library cards and their description, as well as various other information about your progress.
How to get the Grimoire cards
- The dead ghosts. In the game there are 62 dead ghosts scattered throughout the various game levels. Finding them all will not only unlock an achievement / trophy, but you will also get 62 Grimoire Cards, one for each Specter found. For more help, follow our guide to finding all of Destiny's dead ghosts.
- History missions. Another way to get the cards is to complete the story missions. Follow Destiny video walkthrough to complete all 21 story missions and get 21 more library cards.
- Grimoire card codes. Bungie has released codes that can be entered on the official website to unlock particular grimoire cards. Follow the Destiny Unlockable Codes guide for a complete list of these codes.
- Continaure playing Destiny. There are many more library cards than the ones we just mentioned. Keep playing and above all try to vary your activities on the game to always unlock new library cards.
How Grimoire cards work
Many still don't understand how this particular feature of the game works. There is a video (in English, you can find it at the end of the article) that explains the system quite well.
For all those who are not friends enough with the English language, let's say that the cards follow and keep track of all the progress made in the game. Not only of the kills made, but also of the total time spent on a given planet, or the number of times we have completed a particular activity and many other statistics.
Each card indicates three levels with certain objectives that must be achieved to pass to the next level. Advancing in these levels translates into particular bonuses that are obtained in the game such as increasing the probability of obtaining Glimmer or materials on a certain planet, or increasing the speed with which upgrades are obtained for all weapons belonging to a certain class. (for more details, also follow the guide to Destiny unlockable game bonuses), everything is still well described on each card.
If you still want to see the video (I repeat, it's in English) you can still get an idea of how the companion app works and how vast the Grimoire card system is. Don't forget to also consult the Destiny cheats and guides tab with many other useful guides on this game.
