A volume not to be missed
Drawings with a modern and direct line flanked by an adrenaline-pumping, flowing and well-studied plot make "School is hell”An excellent product that will make many old fans happy and will also be able to bring many young guys who do not know the stories of the Huntress closer to the brand. This work does not focus on innovation and indeed, as fans of the series will notice, the real (and only) real change occurs with the historical context in which Buffy's adventures take place, lightening, where possible, the story in in such a way as to highlight the protagonists of the story. The comic, just as the series did in its time, it also shows the fragility of the protagonist torn between a student life and that of the ruthless vampire hunter. The real strength of the comic lies in the features and characterization of the characters very similar (if not the same) to their television counterparts, so as to trigger a real nostalgia effect in the longtime fan. The villains, just like the protagonists, are characterized in an almost perfect way and the drawings of Dan Mora give them a dark style but without being too creepy, all in order to be appreciated even by younger readers.
