It will seem obvious but since there is no indication in the game today we are dealing with the alternative costumes of Mortal Kombat.

How to unlock alternate costumes
First of all let's say that there are two different ways to unlock a character's alternate costume. One, the fastest one, is to go and unlock it in the Krypt by spending a few tokens (follow the dedicated guide to the topic), the other is to complete the arcade skating with the character you want to unlock the costume for.
This is especially important for PS3 owners who want to unlock Kratos' alternate costume. In fact, it seems that, unlike the others, it is not possible to unlock it in the Kripta, so the only way remains to complete the arcade skating with Kratos.
Once you have a costume you will need to go to the Nekropolis to unlock it.

How to select alternative costumes
At the character selection screen, position the cursor on the character and press Start. If you previously unlocked the costume, you will be given the option to choose whether to take the standard or the alternative costume, but that's not all ...

How to select the alternative colors of the costumes
Once you have unlocked a character's alternate costume, you can also decide whether to change the colors of the chosen costume colors. To do this you have to use the Start button instead of the button you normally use for confirmation (i.e. A on 360 and X on PS3), then

• position yourself on the character
• press Start to choose the costume (standard or alternative)
• confirm again with Start

Generally the alternative color is slightly darker than the standard one.
