In this regard, one of the titles at the heart of this revolution is certainly Fortnite, the highly successful Battle Royale video game developed by Epic Games.
For this reason, although the title is no longer available on the Apple App Store due to issues that I will elaborate on later, it is possible play Fortnite on iPhone e iPad surprisingly simple, and free. Requirements for Fortnite on iPhone
Before explaining yourself in more detail how to play Fortnite on iPhone, it is certainly necessary to make some assumptions.
In fact, for years now (2020 represented the "point of no return") epic Games, ergo the software house that developed Fortnite, is at the center of a "debate" that involves Apple, which is the manufacturer of your iPhone. This is not the right place to go into too much detail, but essentially the dispute between the two companies concerns the commissions withheld by Apple: the matter involved, among other things, the removing Fortnite from the App Store, so you won't find the game on the digital store that came pre-installed on the iPhone.
In simple terms, you cannot download the Fortnite app on iPhone and iPad in a "traditional" way, but to play it you have to go through a Microsoft external service cloud-based. What am I referring to? Well, you must know that from May 5, 2022 the Epic Games title is available in Xbox CloudGaming.
The latter is the cloud gaming solution of the Redmond company (included in the Game Pass Ultimate), which works in a similar way to realities such as NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Google Stadia: the game is not run on the smartphone hardware itself, but on a powerful one remote server, which then sends the video stream via internet connection to your device.
Too complex? Don't worry: in practice, if you have one good internet connection (they are recommended at least 7Mbps and a 5GHz Wi-Fi network), everything will feel natural in the end. In fact, net of some slight differences that I will elaborate on here, for you it will essentially be like playing Fortnite normally from a mobile device, complete with touch commands e controller support.
However, the story is different in case your internet connection is not optimal, as you may encounter visual artifacts o lag. For this reason, I advise you to consult my tutorial on how to download Fortnite, so as to understand if you have another platform from which to play the Epic Games title without problems. Net of this, however, it is interesting to point out that Playing Fortnite via Xbox Cloud Gaming is free.
Contrary to what happens in fact for almost all the other titles included in the service, which I have studied in depth in my tutorial on how Xbox Game Pass works (as already mentioned, Microsoft's cloud gaming is integrated into the Ultimate subscription), to have fun with the Epic Games title like this no subscription is needed. In short, trying to use your iPhone to play Fortnite costs you nothing: all that is required is to have a Microsoft account (and of course, as already mentioned, a good Internet connection).
Download Fortnite on iPhone
Now that you're aware of the question of the availability of Fortnite on iPhone, I'd say it's time to explain how to download fortnite on iphone.
The term "download" is a misnomer actually, as you won't have to download anything to your device. In this context, in fact, we pass through a common browser: you can safely rely on the well-known Safari which comes pre-installed on your iPhone.
To proceed, therefore, start this browser, using the classic one compass icon which you can find on the main screen of the smartphone, later reaching the site xbox.com/it-IT/play. At this point you should find Fortnite in plain sight (alternatively, you can clearly use the search function of the portal): therefore press the key first PLAY FOR FREE related to the game and then on that GET READY TO PLAY.
Now the portal will invite you to tap on theshare icon (the one with the arrow pointing up) and select the option Add to Home Screen, confirming the choice by voice Add.
By doing so, you will find the link on the iPhone Home screen Cloud Gaming, to be used just as if it were the icon of a classic app. All you have to do, therefore, is tap on the latter, press the button again PLAY FOR FREE and this time tap the button ACCESS NOW, to sign in with your Microsoft account.
Finally, you will see that the key will finally "unlock". REPRODUCE: you just have to place theiPhone horizontally, in order to enjoy the experience to the fullest, and start your adventure on Fortnite. In short, there is nothing complex, but if you have any doubts, I remind you that you can refer to my tutorial on how to install Fortnite on iPhone.
Play Fortnite on iPhone
Now that you've managed to launch Fortnite in the cloud on iPhone, it's time to get a little familiar with the game, as well as with i commands.
In this regard, you should know that we are referring to a video game belonging to the genre Battle Royale (In case you were wondering, no - PvE Save the World mode cannot be played via Xbox Cloud Gaming). Long story short, in the best known mode of the game there are 100 players fighting each other: the goal is of course be the last ones alive. In the middle of the game, everything happens, from one Storm which closes off the area players can stay in without taking damage to others frantic actions.
Weapons e objects, ergo he loot, they collect from the ground and basically you have a pickaxe per destroy all the elements a little of the scenario, so as to obtain materials to build then structures with which to defend yourself (obviously if you're not playing in "Zero Construction" mode). In any case, the basic dynamics are very casual, so I'm sure you'll only need a few games to understand them. For the rest, you can always refer to my guide on how to play Fortnite Battle Royale for more guidance.
Net of this, al first launch of fortnite you will be asked to select the option relating to the key to be used to fire the weapons that you will acquire during the games. In this regard, I advise you to activate the automatic fire mode, as it is the easiest to use with touch controls. However, alternatively, you can select, at your discretion, the option regarding the possibility of touch anywhere on the screen or the one that requires you to press the button to shoot. In any case, after selecting the option you prefer, tap the button SELECT to confirm it.
Once this is done, you will reach the Fortnite home screen, which is also the one that allows you to start one Partita. More precisely, to do this, just press the button LET'S PLAY located at the bottom right, in order to start the matchmaking (of course, alternatively, you can also use the mode selector, in case the default one doesn't work for you).
In any case, once it has started the Partita it will be the “moment of truth”: in the first few seconds you will probably be in one lobby, ergo in a waiting room designed to "collect" the players before actually starting the match, so you can do all the necessary tests without compromising the progress of the match. So I suggest you try it right away movement through the appropriate virtual stick located at the bottom left, so as to understand if your Internet connection actually "holds up" cloud gaming.
For the rest, i main buttons you see on screen are actually essentially self-explanatory. At the top left is the button for the ping, or to possibly indicate a point of interest to your teammates, while just below there is the button for shoot (which is also "duplicated" on the right to guarantee you a choice and appears on the display once a weapon has been picked up from the ground, which generally happens automatically by passing over it or pressing on it).
At the bottom there is the button for managing theInventory, although you'll probably just use i 5 rapid slots present at its side, i.e. those that allow you to carry and select quickly weaponry e objects. Note the permanent presence of the pickaxe, which is always at your disposal. Otherwise, the bottom right button is for reload and there is no shortage of a button for crouch down, a button for the jump and a key to perform the rapid run (thus making the character move faster than usual for a short time). Finally, at the top left is the map, from which you can keep tabs on the Storm and the "closure zone).
For the rest, clearly here I have only illustrated the basic Fortnite gameplay, but there are also many other operations that can be performed within the game to "put a spanner in the works" for other players. In this regard, I suggest you perhaps take a look at my guide on how to train in Fortnite, in which I have gone into more detail about some advanced mechanics. Also, you might want to check out Epic Games' official recommendations for Fortnite on mobile. Other than that, your best method for learning and winning is probably to simply get in the game and play several games.
Play Fortnite on iPhone with controller
Going beyond the touch controls of Fortnite, you need to know that Xbox Cloud Gaming supports the use of Bluetooth controllers. Yes, you got it right: you can safely make use of this input method.
In this context, you understand well that it is however a bit complex to provide you with precise indications regarding the accessories that are actually compatible in order to be able to play Fortnite on iPhone with a controller, given the myriad of variables involved, but in general I advise you to investigate those products that are licensed MFi Program and are therefore officially compatible with iPhone.
So you might want to do some research on online store such as Amazon or delve into the products available in yours physical store of trust. Having said that, I can confirm that the DualShock 4, or the official controller supplied directly inside the console box PlayStation 4 of Sony, can be safely used for play Fortnite via Xbox Cloud Gaming from iPhone.
See offer on Amazon See offer on eBay See offer on AmazonAll you have to do to use it as an input method is simply connect it via Bluetooth to the iPhone. Simply put, you just hit the path Settings> Bluetooth from the latter, move up if necessary ON the lever relative to Bluetooth and tap on controller name. For more information, you can in any case take a look at my guide on how to activate Bluetooth.
Of course, before doing this, you must have activated the controller pairing mode, which in the case of DualShock 4 can be enabled by holding down the buttons PS (bottom center) e Share until the LED starts to blink. In short, there is nothing too complex and everything can be done quickly, but if in doubt you can find more information in my guides on how to connect the PS4 controller to the iPhone and how to connect the PS4 controller to the iPhone without jailbreak.
Just a few clarifications: in the case of using the PS4 controller, on the screen the Xbox buttons will still appear by default. This shouldn't actually be a big problem, as if you usually play using the DualShock 4 you will certainly know the keys by heart, but I wanted to clarify it. For the rest, everything works properly and if you want to learn more about general issues relating to the Epic Games video game, you can refer to the page dedicated to Fortnite on my site.
