It returns, as precise as the controversies that follow a Juve match, or as the goals of Piatek, the football management par excellence, developed by Sports Interactive: F! Miles Jacobson and his team invite us to sit on the bench, and we could not miss this opportunity!
In Football Manager 2019, a work by reordering of menus and categories, Through a new Skin, elegant and functional. The previous edition of the most loved and famous football manager of all time had not convinced everyone, from this point of view, and evidently the news must have reached the "upper floors", where fortunately the decision was made to fix quite a lot of "rumors". Furthermore, despite a tutorial really well done, it is clear that Sports Interactive has committed this year to make the game even more profound, dedicating much of its efforts to those who live by breathing Football Manager, rather than air.
KICK OFF
Spreading a merciful veil overchilling Editor which allows you to give life to the face and body of your virtual coach (a decidedly unwatchable stuff ...), some news immediately make us exult with joy: finally the Bundesliga boasts the official license (as well as his "Serie B", for a total of 36 teams), and the much loved / hated VAR and goal-line technology. Therefore, you can easily overcome the initial screens that allow you to create a technical / tactical picture of your coach, choosing from different styles ("Iron Sergeant", "Motivator", and so on), Football Manager 2019 welcomes us in all its depth. Screenshots on screens full of data and statistics of all kinds, before finally bringing your team onto the field, crossing your fingers.
The menus that regulate the management of Workouts undoubtedly represent some of the most important improvements of the new Sports Interactive effort. Planning and management are simpler operations and, at the same time, monstrously more accurate than in the past. You think they are well 10 training areas that can be modified, as well as the ability to choose a particular program for each individual player in the squad and the number of sessions per week. The interaction with your team (warnings, compliments, reprimands, etc.) turns out to be even more realistic than in the past; today more than ever it will be necessary to know well the pyramid of hierarchies of the squad, in order not to risk going against the "senators", undermining morale, performances and season. On the other hand, some "reactions" on the pitch are incomprehensible, such as the classic goal taken in the last minutes of the game, despite the fact that one goes off the bench to make sure that the team understands that they absolutely have to throw the ball away, without paying attention to possession. One has the feeling, as in the past, that such instructions simply… bring bad luck!
Another area of the game definitely tweaked (and only for the better!) Is that relating to tactics management. Voices and menus give a wonderful feeling of "cleanliness" and order, while you are immersed in deciding the behavior of your "11" in different moments of the game, ranging from possession to ball recovery. The preset tactics are clearly made available to newbies, but the real coaches will waste hours and hours deciding the behavior on the pitch of each individual athlete, and never like in FM 2019 the instructions seem to be followed on the pitch to the letter (taking into account skill techniques, tactics and mental of the players). Conflicting indications create confusion, which results in poor performance in the field. Giving commands in line with the characteristics of the players raises the chances of victory, but among the most beautiful aspects of every Football Manager is the one that, with the courage to dare, you can achieve truly unpredictable results, perhaps discovering a new role for its own athlete.
CALCIOMERCATO: THE BUTTON HEART OF EVERY FM
The beating heart of every Football Manager is the transfer market. In FM 2019 nothing was upset, even if we noticed a greater attention to the young and potential stars of the planet. We consider the difficulty of the sale and purchase of each individual player to be one of the most successful aspects, historically, of the entire series, and also this year we do not feel disappointed at all! Each negotiation is a real, exciting, war of nerves, both with the club holding the card, and with the much desired footballer: Financial fair play, very expensive clauses, competitive offers, requests for wages that make your knees tremble and many other elements will make you spit blood, and then rejoice as if to a goal scored at 90 ° in case of successful negotiation, assuming you succeed in the enterprise. In our opinion, although in the real world the figures that "move" football are decidedly monstrous, we believe that in FM 2019 they are even more exaggerated and that, therefore, they would need a downward slime.
The graphic sector of Football Manager 2019 does not present substantial news: the game engine, again this year, it doesn't even come close to sacred monsters like FIFA and PES (which is not the intention of Sports Interactive), although some lighting effects of the stadiums and some particular animations will still be able to make the heart beat faster. The physics of the ball has been slightly improved, but some goalkeepers' "ducks" remain inexplicable: it is evident, on occasions like this, how the game engine wants to simulate a particular event on the field that the graphics engine, however, is unable to "draw" on the screen as it should. A problem that is all in all acceptable, by the very nature of the game, which certainly does not aim to amaze in terms of graphics and visual impact.
Some historical defects remain in this series, which have definitely tired. Really we fail to understand the difficulty of developers in reducing the injury rate (which also in FM 2019 represent the best concept of "calamity" imaginable), despite the amount of Feedback received from players all over the world. Moreover, it would almost be appropriate DON'T talk about relations with the press, an aspect that the guys led by Miles Jacobson just can't, so much so that they almost want to advise the developers to completely eliminate this useless, repetitive and monstrously boring phase of the game (at least, you can always delegate this task to the deputy ... ).
Football Manager 2019, despite the presence of some historical defects (which it would really be time to eliminate), represents, as usual, the best football management system in circulation. The tactical depth, the management of the transfer market and that relating to every managerial aspect that every real coach breathes 24 hours a day, is here recreated with maniacal care, which simply has no possible opponent. Everyone else tries to offer something vaguely similar, but nothing and nobody can come close to Football Manager.
